The PDF Studio 2022 release drastically improves rendering and load time performance of large and complex documents. Previously PDF Studio would only use a single CPU core when producing page tiles to display on the screen. Now PDF Studio will use up to 6 CPU cores (depending on available system cores) to generate document tiles leading to much faster load times.

Performance Improvement Sample

Below is an example of a very intensive PDF page (containing images and complex color gradients) that was rendering very slowly in PDF Studio 2021. You can appreciate the improvement in rendering speed by watching the video below showing the 2 versions of PDF Studio side by side. Of course, for most documents, pages will render in a fraction of a second, but in this unusual case, the page rendering speed went from 22 seconds to 8 seconds.

See the below example on system running the following specs:

  • CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz  (8 cores / 16 threads)
  • Memory: 12GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1463MHz
  • File: 15MB large print brochure w/ complex vector based graphics and gradients

* With 8 cores this system only utilizes 4 cores for tiling – performance will be even faster on a more powerful machine.
