Question:

How do you size an interactive form field when you are designing an interactive PDF form?

Answer:

PDF Studio can be used to make a PDF form fillable by adding interactive form fields on top of the PDF. The various Form Field Types are Text Field, Check Box, Radio Button, Combo Box, List Box, Push Button, Signature, Image Button, and Date Field.

When you create the fields, there are two different options to size them:

  1. Creating a field with default size
    • Navigate to the forms tab to begin Form Editing Mode
    • Select the Form Field Type; the cursor will change to notify you of the field type selected
    • Use your mouse to move to the location you want to place the field and then select that area to place the field
    • A form field of selected type will be placed on the page using the default size
  2.  Creating a field with custom size by dragging
    • Navigate to the forms tab to begin Form Editing Mode
    • Select the Form Field Type; the cursor will change to notify you of the field type selected
    • Click on the area of the page where the Top Left of the field should start
    • Hold down the mouse button to drag and create the custom field size needed
    • When you are done, release the mouse to place the field
    • Note: You can save the custom field size you created as the default size. Simply Right-click (Control-click for Mac users) on the placed field and select “Save Size as Default”.
