Q: If I create a PDF with form fields in PDF Studio will the users I send it to be able to enter data in the fields and then save the form using Adobe Reader?
A: The answer is Yes, using Adobe Reader XI or higher.
PDF Studio creates forms using the most common type of forms called Acroforms.
Since Adobe Reader XI, it is possible for users to fill form fields and also save the forms (of type Acroforms).
In earlier version of Adobe Reader, version X and earlier, form fields could be filled but the form could only be submitted or printed, the form could be not be saved unless it had been previously Adobe Reader enabled, which is proprietary to Adobe and which can not be achieved in PDF Studio.
So, if you would like your users to be able to save any information entered into the forms you created with PDF Studio, ask them to download for free the latest version of Adobe Reader, version XI or higher, available here http://get.adobe.com/reader/
