PDF Studio License keys can be managed using one of the below methods:

Note: Each PDF Studio user license can be used to install and activate PDF Studio on up to 2 computers, for the same user. If the user owns more than 2 computers, an additional computer can be added to a user license. Companies deploying PDF Studio must purchase a user license for each employee using the application.

Unregister / Deactivate Device

License Key Manager

PDF Studio offers a license key management tool for keys with 10 users or less. This tool can be used to view or remove any current users & machines registered to your license key. Note: This tool was introduced in version 2018.3.1. For earlier versions, see the bottom of this article.

To access the key management tool:

  1. Launch PDF Studio on any of the machines currently registered
  2. Go to the Help Tab then click on License Information
  3. Click on Manage to see the current list of registered users and devices associated with your key
    • Note: This option is only available for license keys with 10 or less Users
  4. Check the box next to each of the User(s) / Device(s) you wish to unregister
  5. Click on the “Unregister” button

Transfer License Key

If you are moving computers or have reached the maximum number of activations allowed on your license, you need to first deactivate PDF Studio on a computer you no longer use before activating it on another computer.

  1. Follow the directions above to deactivate the User(s) / Device(s) you no longer need to free up a spot
  2. Once deactivated Download and install PDF Studio on the new device
  3. User your license key to activate the new User(s) / Device(s)

Retrieve Current Registered User(s) / Device(s)

License Key Manager

For keys with 10 users or less, use the license key management tool to view the list of current users & machines registered to your license key.

  1. Launch PDF Studio on any of the machines currently registered
  2. Go to the Help Tab then click on License Information

Deactivate PDF Studio

To deactivate PDF Studio for a given user on a machine:

  1. Log on to the User account or Device you wish to un-register
    • NoteIf your computer is offline, bring it back online temporarily to deactivate the software. If the computer can not be put online, contact PDF Studio Customer Support for help.
  2. Launch PDF Studio
  3. Go to Help > License Information
  4. Click on the “Unregister” button

Retrieve Current Registered User(s) / Device(s)
