Q: If I markup text using Preview on the Mac, the highlighted text does not show up in PDF Studio. What can I do to fix this?
A: This problem is actually being caused by Preview. The issue is that Preview is not following the PDF Standards and creates appearance streams in PDF documents incorrectly. In fact, the highlights will not display correctly in any other PDF viewer/editor including Adobe Acrobat & Adobe Reader (Adobe created the PDF Standard) because of these errors.
To resolve the issue, you can just use PDF Studio to highlight and annotate your document, as PDF Studio follows the PDF standards correctly, and so the document will be compatible with any PDF viewer/editor that supports the PDF standards.
PDF Studio license allows installation on two devices so you can also install it on your Mac as well as a PC or Linux and prevent this issue from occurring.
