Q: How can I set PDF permissions to be able to comment and sign it in Adobe Reader?
A: PDF Studio can set / reset the permissions to add annotations to a PDF document and sign a signature field. However, this will only allow users to do so within a PDF editor such as PDF Studio or Adobe Acrobat, not in Adobe Reader. With Adobe Acrobat (version 8 and later), it is possible to set another “flag” to enable annotating documents in Adobe Reader. This is a hidden internal flag from Adobe that is not standard to the PDF format. For this reason, PDF Studio can not set this flag.
