Q: When I open a PDF document, it does not show the PDF filename correctly under the frame title or under the tab header. How can I make it show the filename?

A: For this document, PDF Studio is actually displaying the document title instead of the filename.

Looking under Document Properties, I see that this document title is “My document title”

The reason for displaying the document title, is that this PDF document was set to display the document title rather than the file name under Document Properties.

Follow the instructions below to change the document to render the filename instead of the document title.

  • Go to File -> Properties -> Initial View
  • Set show “File Name” instead of “Document Title

Also note that you can always find the full document file path in the tooltip that displays when hovering over the tab header.
